Carthage Cement has high-performance, state-of-the-art production tools, enabling it to meet the needs of the building materials market with an installed production capacity

Carthage Cement ready-mixed concrete

Ready-mixed concrete is a precise mixture of cement, aggregates, water and additives. It is shaped according to the purpose for which it is intended.

The concrete produced by our power plants complies with NT 21.195: in the factory, its characteristics are checked in terms of frequency and performance level according to the requirements of this standard.

Its shape and manufacture comply with precise specifications, in particular in terms of compressive strength class, exposure class, consistency class (sag class), nominal maximum size of aggregates and grade class chlorides.

Seeking to diversify our products and support the construction market in the North of the country, we provide a wide range of specific prescription concretes (SPC) and concretes with particular composition (PCC).

The production cycle

Step 01

The Receiving Facility

The aggregate receiving facilities allow trucks to empty their load directly into a hopper where it will be carried by a gaudier elevator to an aggregate silo with a capacity of 1.400 tons.

The cement is delivered by tanker trucks that unload their cargo into the silos through compressed air pressurized tight pipes.

Step 02

Aggregates storage

The aggregates are stored in a silo with six separate compartments. This type of storage makes it possible to prevent all types of moisture problems for the aggregates..

Step 03

Adjuvants storage

The adjuvants are delivered in 1000 liters barrels on a truck then emptied in tanks of 5000 liters by a pump.

Step 04

Cement storage

The cement is stored in waterproof silos equipped with filters. Carthage Cement has 4 cement silos with a capacity of 120 tons each for the vertical plant and two silos with a capacity of 80 tons at the mobile plant.

Step 05

Mixing

In the first place, the mixer brews cement, sand and gravel. Then the adjuvants and the water are added. The time and the quality of the mixing are essential elements for obtaining a good product: they are controlled and defined for each concrete composition.

Carthage Cement has three mixers :

  • Horizontal mixer of capacity 3.35 m3.
  • Vertical mixer with 2.25 m3capacity with two planetaries.
  • Vertical mixer with a capacity of 1 m3.

Step 06

The Control Station

Concrete plants in Carthage Cement are equipped with computer controlled production machines. The database contains all the formulas, compositions, customers and mixer trucks, and makes it possible to select with great rigor the adapted formula to the concrete ordered by a customer.

All orders produced are saved with a unique production voucher number that cannot be changed.

Cement, sand, gravel, water and additives are metered and weighed with a very good level of measurement uncertainty. Measurement defects do not exceed 1.5% (the standard requires a maximum of 3% for cement, gravel and sand and 5% for adjuvants).

Step  07

Delivery

Fresh concrete is conveyed to the building sites via mixer trucks with a capacity of 7 and 10 m3 in which it is kneaded all along the way. The majority of our BPE products contain fluidizing additives to avoid any concrete problem in the mixer trucks..

Cutting-edge technology

To ensure the handling and transportation of concrete, Carthage Cement operates a modern set of state-of-the-art machineries.

The mixer trucks and pumps in the Carthage Cement BPE unit are characterized by their ease of use and low maintenance time.

Carthage Cement has a rolling stock of 22 mixer trucks and 4 30-meter self-propelled pumps that are fully available to our customers for the pumping of concrete on site.

Through its large logistics fleet, Carthage Cement is able to ensure the realization of several large pouring in an optimal time.

A utility vehicle is available during the time of pouring to ensure quick resolving of any troubleshooting for mixer trucks and pumps.
